Media educator Günther Kinstler introduces a school class into the Film

SCHOOL FILM DAYS

For the second time, the goEast festival addresses students from Wiesbaden and surrounding areas with its School Film Days at the Caligari FilmBühne. This year, the series – which is supported by the “Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung” (Federal Agency for Civic Education) – presents three films: the children’s classic NO HOLIDAY FOR INOCHKIN by Elem Klimov (rated 6-years or older), BATTLESHIP „POTEMKIN“ (rated 12 years or older) and A SHORT FILM ABOUT KILLING (rated 16 years or older) are part of the cinematic canon of the Federal Agency for Civic Education. They were selected by experts to introduce young people to the forms and contents of film, furthering the media-proficiency in schools. With this series, goEast wants to create a platform and establish the silver screen as a place of learning.
Experienced media-educator Günther Kinstler, who also advises the Kinderfilmfest LUCAS in Frankfurt, will introduce each film. After the screening, there will be an opportunity for discussion. Teachers will be supplied with extensive information-materials in advance. goEast invites school-classes of all ages to submerge themselves in our Eastern neighbours’ stories and images, getting to know their culture.
In co-operation with the Medienzentrum Wiesbaden.
