/ THE DEAD SEASON An adventure film based on a true story: KGB agent Ladeinikov is dispatched to track down the German war criminal Haas, who during WW2 tested psycho-chemical weapons on Soviet prisoners-of-war, and after the war continues his experiments with dangerous substances in a small town in the west. Ladeinikov hopes to identify Haas with the assistance of Savushkin, a Moscow actor and former prisoner-of-war. After a number of perilous adventures Savushkin returns safely to Moscow, secret documents in his bag. Ladeinikov, however, falls into the hands of the counterintellegence.
