SPECIALS / SCHOOL FILM DAYS

Once again, the goEast festival addresses students from Wiesbaden and surrounding areas with its School Film Days at the Caligari FilmBühne. This year, the series – which is supported by the “Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung” (Federal Agency for Civic Education) – presents three films: Jiri Trnka’s PRINCE BAYAYA (recommended 6 years or older), Jan Sverak’s KOLYA (rated 6 years or older) and EUROPA EUROPA by Agnieszka Holland (rated 12 years or older). With this series, goEast wants to create a platform and establish the silver screen as a place of learning. Experienced media-educator Günther Kinstler, who also advises the Kinderfilmfest LUCAS in Frankfurt, will introduce each film. After the screening, there will be an opportunity for discussion. Teachers will be supplied with extensive information-material in advance.
In co-operation with the Medienzentrum Wiesbaden.
