Russian Disco with Wladimir Kaminer

Russian Disco with Wladimir Kaminer

Wladimir Kamino is coming to Wiesbaden with his Russian Disco! The 37 year-old Russian exile of Jewish decent, who bought a train ticket to Berlin in 1990 and has been living at Prenzlauer Berg ever since, constitutes a double phenomenon in the cultural scene. With his collection of stories, “Russian Disco” and numerous successive books- comical and sensitively observant ethnographies of scurrile German everyday life- Kaminer is in demand and has swiftly developed into one of the most successful German young authors. He writes for various daily newspapers, has his own radio station and a column in ZDF’s morning magazine. At the cultural center Schlachthof, Kaminer will be reading from two new, hitherto unpublished works on his Karaoke experiences and the art of Russian cooking.

And then there’s still DJ Kaminer. Every Saturday, at his Russian disco in “Kaffee Burger” Kaminer and DJ Jurij Gurzhy rock the Berlin scene with Eastern sounds. After the reading at the Schlachthof, the duo will stir up the goEast public and anyone else with open ears and dance-craving legs.

Friday, 08.04.
Kulturzentrum Schlachthof, Gartenfeldstr. 57.
Reading: Admission from 8 p.m.
goEast party: from 10 p.m.
