PAD U RAJ / FALLING INTO THE PARADISE

PAD U RAJ / FALLING INTO THE PARADISE
Serbia and Montenegro, Germany, France, Netherlands 2004
Director: Milos Radovic, 83 MIN

Fast-paced black comedy set against the background of the events in Belgrade in 1999. Because of the NATO-embargo, the Serbian capital is cut off from the rest of the world. Lubi, the king of the black-market (played by Lazar Ristovski), is sick of American reconnaissance aircraft and his sister Dusha, who dreams of finding herself an AWACS-pilot for a husband. Lubi lives with Dusha’s daughter and “grandma” in a rundown building and finds himself increasingly at odds with the world. Until he manages to get a grenade-launcher from the black-market and shoot down an AWACS-plane – so he thinks. However, when the pilot lands on the roof of their house – of all places – he, Dusha and Lubi have very different ideas about how to proceed.

Bambi: 09.04. / 2 p.m.
In presence of the festival director Milan Nikodijevic.
