A Love in Germany
Germany, during World War II. The grocer Pauline Kropp (Hanna Schygulla) lives in Brombach, a small provincial village near the Swiss border. Her husband was drafted into the army and is supposed to be transferred to the Eastern Front. When Pauline falls in love with the Polish forced-labourer Stanilaw, the village turns against them.
