Students´ Section

Since its premiere in 2001, the Students’ Films Section has proved to be an audience-favourite. In three days, it presents an extensive short-film competition with many German premieres, the forum MEET THE FILMSCHOOLS and its own award-ceremony. The goEast Students’ Film Award goes to the best entry in the categories “documentary or experimental film”, “short feature” and “animated film”. All three awards are endowed with €750 and are awarded by the audience.
The following academies and universities participate this year: the WRiTV, Radio and Television Department of Krzysztof Kieslowski's name of the University of Silesia, Katowice; the Faculty of Dramatic Arts of the University of Arts Belgrade – FDU; the Munich Academy for Television and Film – HFF; the University for Design – hfg Offenbach; the department of Media Design at the University of Applied Sciences Mainz; the department for Design at the University of Applied Sciences Wiesbaden and the University of the Arts Kassel. Directors from these colleges accompany the program.
Out of competition, German Films (formerly the Export-Union of the German Film) presents NEXT GENERATION 2004, a representative selection of works produced at German Film Colleges.
