The film is composed of unknown archive materials from the thirties. Using dynamic visuals and popular music of the time, it shows us how people lived in the world’s major cities – regardless of their politics: how they enjoyed a glass of wine after work, holidays at the shore or the purchase of a new automobile. They did not yet know what was in store for them: the catastrophe of World War II.
